You may be wondering: “How do I find the person who will hear, really hear, and take time to understand the feelings and emotions that are inexpressible?” I am that person. For over 20 years, I’ve worked with persons who are experiencing loss of identity and a sense of belonging—estrangement from family, siblings, friends, or their spiritual tradition or they may not align with any spiritual tradition.
My passion is helping another person discover who they really are and to live their truth. I facilitate this through personal story, dream-work, considering how current life disruption impacts emotional and mental health, and attending to what is waiting within the person that wants out and wants expression. I know how stress and troubling emotions can make life feel unmanageable and I know how difficult it can be to make that first call to get help.
During our first meeting, we’ll create a safe space for you to tell your personal story: the bridge to your true self. We’ll create a plan to identify immediate issues and establish goals to keep us on track and how to put the plan to work. I may suggest that you begin writing down your experiences, dreams, and thoughts, often called “thought writing” or journaling that’s confidential. You’ll begin to recognize what causes you to feel lost, alone, and invisible. As we work together, you’ll become aware of what triggers stress and what causes depression. You’ll begin to recognize yourself, again, personal relationships will improve, and you'll regain a sense of belonging. Persons who come to me, find out who they are!
I’m a licensed clinical mental health counselor, psychotherapist, and career coach and counselor. My training is in Jungian and Transpersonal Psychology. I have a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA. I received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, Boulder, CO. Before my training in psychology, I was a Registered Nurse working in Coronary Intensive Care. From my years in medicine and psychology, my focus as a counselor and psychotherapist is integration of
body/mind/spirit: a holistic perspective that acknowledges how the body and mind alongside the spiritual and religious orientation, influence all aspects of our wellbeing.
Thank you for taking time to read about me. I look forward to hearing from you!
