In this wide world full of adventure there are many challenges to face. When faced with a challenge, we humans naturally experience emotions — however sometimes our emotions may feel overwhelming or uncomfortable. It doesn’t have to be this way! When working with clients, I enjoy helping people learn to identify, understand, and transform emotions from an avalanche of energy into a powerful force that renews, rather than depletes them.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I work with people throughout the lifespan, including children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. Many individuals come to see me, however I also enjoy working with couples, families, and groups. I have a research background in clinical psychology, with extensive knowledge of the brain and nervous system, combined with expertise in marriage and family therapy, which embraces a relational and systemic approach to healing. My education includes a B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and an M. A. in Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from Palo Alto University. What sets me apart from many therapists is my clinical approach that combines both the art of counseling and the science of psychology.

If you are looking for evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, and IFS, combined with experiential modalities including art therapy, music therapy, play therapy, mindfulness, and body-based somatic approaches, then I may be a good match for you. Often times I work with clients who are faced with anxiety, stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder, emotional eating, eating disorders, trauma/PTSD, intimate relationship challenges, and complex or relational trauma. I particularly enjoy using Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help people process traumatic and stressful experiences and solidify their sense of self. In addition, I have a particular focus on working with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) while integrating skills-based approaches to enhance emotion regulation and communication.

Emotional expression is an integral part of who we are, and counseling is a space in which you are free to express yourself without judgment. My approach is calm, curious, and creative, and in our work together I will be like a creative consultant. My goal is not to fix you, rather, it is to help you evolve to be the best version of yourself.
