As a licensed professional counselor, I have spent the last 10 years working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families to navigate life’s issues as they present, and to assist in working through tough life transitions to build and use healthier minds, coping skills, and overall mental health wellbeing. In my approach to therapy, I have come to find a grain of truth in the idea that YOU have the answers you need! You may just need some direction and guidance to those crucial questions and conversations to find them. That is where I step in with you and our journey begins together. Note that my last sentence didn’t say you, alone, but rather a coming together in partnership and alliance to be productive in meeting your needs comprehensively.

As a person and a professional, I’m up to my eye balls in reading and research for the latest evidence-based practices that have shown to move the needle in therapy services and strategies. Even though advanced education is behind me; I still always have my nose in the books and my ear to research. I believe I was put on this earth to be the person I was meant to be, which in turn leads to you, and your journey. I find love and peace in the world is when I watch others do the same. My mission in life is to change the mantra of stigmatizing mental health through evolution of practices, theory and by just being the best mentor and counselor that I can be.

I also have a large part of my heart dedicated to the growing minds of students and recent graduates from counseling education backgrounds. I am a board-certified clinical supervisor who helps to mindfully mold the minds that will forge forward in this profession long after my work is done. Their growth, nurturing, and maturity in becoming their own unique counseling characters is something that breathes new life into my lungs and brings an innocent and surreal smile to my face.

To accomplish things I want to in life, and to assist you in doing the same; we must believe in ourselves, wholly, to have faith and patience with the process of improved mental wellness. It is not easy, it isn’t a walk in the park on a sunny day… Counseling and whole minded wellness can be challenging, and you may find yourself wanting to quit shortly after beginning. It can feel overwhelming or be too intrusive but that is where you and I have all the ability to steer the ship- to course correct, slow down, speed up, turn directions. Again, I truly believe you have the answers you seek; we just drive together along a map to best get you there. I believe a healthy whole minded self needs love, compassion, forgiveness, and honesty. If you aren’t ready for those things today, or aren’t sure how to get there, I am always here by your side to give you the tools, practice, and practical applications of these to aid in your growth.

In addition to my experience as a mental health professional, I have a background in program development, program management, and crisis response within the law enforcement and first responder environments. I have written and researched, as well as presented those findings to stakeholders in many state and city initiatives relative to the mental health wellbeing in our communities. All this experience lends to my ability to not shy away from any presenting issues you want to explore, but I also have the wisdom and lived experience to know when to ask more, delve deeper, and seek further information. I hope this has given you a peek into who I am and what I value and that you and I can begin to forge your own journey to mental wellness.
